SBS’s upcoming drama “The King: Eternal Monarch” has released a new suspenseful teaser!
“The King: Eternal Monarch” is an upcoming drama written by Kim Eun Sook and starring Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun. It tells the story of two parallel worlds, one in which Korea is a constitutional monarchy, and one similar to present-day Korea. Lee Min Ho plays Emperor Lee Gon, who tries to close the door between the two worlds, and Kim Go Eun plays Detective Jung Tae Eul, who works with him to save people’s lives.
The short teaser begins with a look at a beautiful and ethereal tree, which is followed by lightning and darkness. The faces of the actors Lee Min Ho, Kim Go Eun, Woo Do Hwan, Kim Kyung Nam, Jung Eun Chae, and Lee Jung Jin flash by, looking solemn as they prepare to face the upcoming storm.
Woo Do Hwan will play Lee Gon’s bodyguard Jo Young, and Kim Kyung Nam will take on the role of Kang Shin Jae, a level-headed and determined detective who works with Jung Tae Eul. Jung Eun Chae will play Goo Seo Ryung, the youngest and first female Prime Minister, and Lee Jung Jin will play Lee Rin, Lee Gon’s uncle who led the conspiracy against his father.
The description for the teaser reads, “God let loose a devil into the human world, and that devil opened the door to a parallel world.”
“The King: Eternal Monarch” premieres on April 17 at 10 p.m. KST as the follow-up to “Hyena.”
