In the previous episode of ‘The Inheritors’ that aired on December 4th in the afternoon, Lee Min Ho struggled to be completely free from the pressures coming from the king’s crown that is getting slowly tighter while at the same time bearing the pain of his first love story.
In the drama that day, after Kim Tan (Lee Min Ho) sends messages of a break-up to Cha Eun Sang (Park Shin Hye), he exceeds the limits of his patience and cries out. In order to protect Eun Sang, Tan declared that he will not get any closer to her but ended up not keeping his promise. It was the moment when Tan, who tried everything he can for Eunsang, could not bear the weight of the crown any more and begins to wander without any purpose.
In the drama, Tan found found Eunsang dramatically and goes to see Lee Bok Hyung (Choi Jin Hyuk) and said “Please , please save Eun Sang from me and my father. I have ruined her” and revealed his desperate mind. Tan said to Eun Sang, “I will put back the things that I have ruined so far the way they were before. I was sorry for asking you to hold my hand and have courage. Bye, Cha Eun Sang” and declared a brake-up.
Tan goes to see his father Kim Nam, Yoon (Jeong Dong Hwan) and said “I am never going to see her anymore. Father, you won”. But still said to his father, “My heart hurts. It is hard and I miss her. My life is a shit” and cried out. Even though his mom Ki Ae (Kim Seong Ryung) was surprised, Tan did not care much and just went into his room and cried out while breaking everything in his room. With empty looks in the eyes, Tan cried in tears while holding his ruined heart that is still breaking and collapsed.
Afterwards, Tan was arrested by the police for speeding without a license. When he got into a fight with another person while he was drunk, without thinking about anything, he just started throwing punches to the person and got wildly violent. He even pushes away Choi Young Do (Kim Woo Bin) who tries to stop him and got wilder. Young Do ends up punching Tan and said “If you want to see Cha Eun Sang, then why don’t you go and see her?” and Tan replied by “I am not going to see her and you can keep her” and portrayed the image of someone with almost no soul as if he thinks the world is over.
Up till now, Tan did everything for Eun Sang but now he feels the limits to his patience. The weight of the crown that was around him made his beautiful first love a painful break-up. The viewers together had to feel the pain of either Tan, who could not bear the sorrow and ends up externally expressing his emotions, or Eun Sang.
