Actor Lee Min Ho has won the lawsuit against several companies who were using his name to sell face masks without his permission. Hence, these companies will no longer be able to sell facial masks by calling them “Lee Min Ho mask packs.”
The star’s agency Starhaus told the media, “According to Seoul Western District Court’s decision made on September 9, companies ‘T,’ “K,’ and ‘G’ have unlawfully used Lee Min Ho’s name to sell facial masks without the consent of his agency, and they will no longer be able to sell products using his name.”
The companies who lost the case will now have to stop selling masks with the actor’s face on it, as well as take down any promotional material that had used the actor.
Lee Min Ho’s lawyer Son Suk Bong commented, “These companies produced these products without discussing it with the agency. This is a breach of Lee Min Ho’s personality rights, while also negatively affecting numerous average consumers and those who travel to Korea from other countries.”
Starhaus further stressed that they will be willing to take legal actions against any other companies who may use the actor’s image to promote their products without the permission from the agency.
